         Elements

For my first DomoBrasil article I would like to introduce you to elements and how to choose a monster to level on.

There are 5 elements in DOMO:

Fire

Water

Wood

Metal

Earth

Each element has another element it is strongest against, and one it is weakest against.

Fire is strongest against metal (150%) and earth (125%) and does 100% damage against fire and wood monsters. It is weakest against water based monsters and will only do 50% damage.

Water is strongest against fire (150%) and wood (125%) and does 100% damage on water and metal. It is weakest against earth element monsters and will only do 50% damage against them

Wood is strongest against earth (150%) and fire (125%) element monsters, and does 100% damage on wood and water. It is weakest against metal element monsters where it will only do 50% damage.

Metal is strongest against wood (150%) and Water (125%) element monsters, and does 100% damage against metal and earth. It is weakest against Fire element monsters (50%) damage.

Earth is strongest against water (150%) and metal (125%) element monsters, and does 100% damage against Earth and fire. It is weakest against wood where it will only do 50% damage.

Now that we understand elements, how can we make them work for us.

First we can choose a weapon with the right element for what we are fighting. The first weapon you get with an elemental attribute is at level 20. Say you are level 25 Wizard, You wouldn't want to use a Ghostly glow wand (fire elemental attribute) against Crimson globs. you might want to use a non elemental, or water elemental wand in this case. If at level 35 or so you find yourself fighting Bandit bow wow (fire element monster) in Blakatoa or Canute Canal with your wizard, a very good choice of wand might be the Wispy Wand (Water elemental attribute)

Second Try and match your pet up against a monster it it strongest against. One of my favorite monsters to level on is the Shielded snake. a high level Merc type earth monster. This makes him weak to my Ruby and if I am able to use a fire or wood element weapon this is a great leveling situation. The object is always to do the most damage the fastest possible while taking the least damage. Keep in mind, pets not only have an elemental attack, they also have an elemental defense. A bad choice of pet on the Shielded snake would be a Saphire. A Saphire's damage will be reduced by 50% and, if the Saph gets hit, it is going to hurt....a lot.

Keep in mind some attacks are elemental attacks. Shaman is a good example of a job with a lot of elemental attacks. If you are fighting a metal element monster, you might want to put Heatstroke Hex at the top of your attack order and use it most often, followed by Coming Of Autumn as these will do the most damage, and move Ides Of March to the bottom of your list and use it least.

I hope this article gets you thinking and would like you to ask yourself the following questions as you level.

1- Am I using the best weapon possible against this monster?

2- Is this Monster the best choice for my selection of weapons, pets , and level?

I think that if you do this you can put yourself in the best leveling situation possible.
