Hello GMerock, and thank you for taking this interview. How did you discover DOMO? |
| GMerock: | DOMO came to me when a GM I knew got a job with Aeria Games. The more and more they talked about their job, the more I was intrigued about being a GM. Becoming a part of Aeria Games introduced me to the world of free MMO's, including DOMO. |
| DomoBrasil: | Well what about the person behind the GM char, anything you would like to tell us about yourself? |
| GMerock: |
Well, I am not as small as I appear to be in game as the tiny
little sprite you may have seen. :D I grew up here in the United States. I am of Irish and German ethnicity with some other uknown European descent. I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area when I was 4 years old from the state of Colorado. I have always enjoyed playing video games since I was a little kid. I played alot of Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64 growing up. I also played soccer from the age of 3 until i graduated high school. During high school I started playing basketball and I currently still play basketball in my free time. |
| DomoBrasil: | How long have you been a gamemaster? |
| GMerock: | I have been a Game Master for just over 7 months. |
| DomoBrasil: | What about your first day as a gamemaster, how was it? Exciting, scary? |
| GMerock: | My first Day as a GM was very basic. Just learning the computer programs I would be using, getting used to the website and setting up my computer. But, my first week and month as a GM were very entertaining as well as educational about the world of Free MMO's, as it continues to be. It was entertaining because I was learning about the DOMO community and its players. All of these players have a unique personality which never leaves a dull moment. I enjoy interacting with these players and helping them with any issues or questions they might have. My favorite part is interacting with the players at the events we run. |

We, Brazilian, used to play games where GMs are in their majority only ruler enforcer. I noticed that, in DOMO, GMs are more than the simply "person who catches the outlaws". What are your tasks? |
| GMerock: |
Some of the tasks we GM's here at Aeria have are; Yes, keeping things in order in game as well as on the forums. Coming up with events and running those events. Running promotions and notifying players of promotions. Answering players questions. Helping players who have issues. Testing the new game content. Interacting with our Game Sages (GS) as they act as our, Eyes and Ears when we are unavailable. |
| DomoBrasil: | Another thing that I noticed is the lack of botters in DOMO (i only saw a botter once, and it got banned in 5 minutes), which proves that you really do a good work. What is the reason of that success in keeping DOMO clean of cheaters? |
| GMerock: | DOMO has very limited botters who do not last long because of our community and our Game Sages. Our players are very helpful in reporting issues to us and notifying us when something is wrong. |
| DomoBrasil: | The Brazilian community in DOMO is growing day by day. What do you think about that? |
| GMerock: | I, as well as all of us here at Aeria, apprecieate not only the Brazillian population growth in game, but also the growth from all countries around the world. This adds to the game, and our player community when we have people from all over the world playing with one another. |
| DomoBrasil: |
Has DOMO ever had any problems with Brazilian's behaviour in game? If yes, may you tell us some examples? |
| GMerock: | I have not seen any Brazilian specific behavior issues. |

| DomoBrasil: | What effects do you believe cheating has on the community's behavior as a whole? |
| GMerock: | I believe cheating greatly affects the community. If you cheat, you are gaining an unfair advantage over antoher player. This will obviously upset the other players making it not only not fair, but not fun as well. |
